1. Acceptance of Terms

By installing and using the Leafy Chrome extension (“Leafy”, “the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not install or use the extension.

2. Description of Service

Leafy is a Chrome extension that enables collaborative web annotation. You can leave comments anchored to specific elements on any webpage, organize collaborators into shared workspaces called “gardens”, and receive notifications when you are @mentioned.

3. User Accounts

You must sign in with a valid Google account to use Leafy.
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.
You are responsible for all activity under your account.
You must not share your account credentials or attempt to access another user's account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Leafy to:

Post content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or that infringes the rights of others.
Impersonate any person or entity.
Collect, harvest, or distribute personal information about others without their consent.
Send unsolicited invitations, spam, or bulk messages through the garden invitation system.
Interfere with, disrupt, or overload the service or its infrastructure.
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the service, or reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code beyond what is permitted by applicable law.
Use Leafy in violation of any applicable law or third-party terms of service for the sites you are annotating.

5. Usage Limits

Leafy is free to use for personal use. To keep the service sustainable, the free tier includes the following limits:

Up to 3 gardens owned per user.
Up to 5 members per garden.
Unlimited annotations.

If you need higher limits, you can request an upgrade through the extension's Help & Feedback form. Limits are subject to change with reasonable notice.

6. User Content

You retain ownership of the comments, annotations, and other content you create through Leafy (“User Content”). By using the Service, you grant Leafy a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, process, and display your User Content solely to provide the annotation and collaboration features to you and the members of the gardens you share content with.

You are solely responsible for your User Content. You represent that you have the rights necessary to post it and that it does not violate the rights of any third party.

7. Third-Party Websites

Leafy lets you annotate third-party websites, but we do not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for those websites or their content. Your use of any third-party site is governed by that site's own terms.

8. Privacy

Your use of Leafy is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what data we collect and how we use it.

9. Termination

You may stop using Leafy at any time by uninstalling the extension. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by emailing us at the address below.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the invitation system, or pose a risk to the safety or integrity of the service or its users.

10. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

Leafy is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that stored annotations will always resolve to the original element on a page that has been modified.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Leafy and its creator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.

11. Changes to the Service and Terms

We may update Leafy from time to time, adding, modifying, or removing features. We may also update these Terms of Service. When we make material changes we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you through the extension. Continued use of Leafy after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms of Service, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter (including non-contractual disputes or claims), shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

You agree that the courts located in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any such dispute or claim.
